Accommodation Otavalo Cotacachi Ecuador

Great people, incredible location and a wonderful spot to stay at. Highly highly and highly recommend. Lionel and Katty went above and beyond and had eggs for us at arrival (from their own chickens), gave us rides and fabulous suggestions. We LOVED the views and the whole vibe. I'm not a huge fan of airbnb but staying with them makes me want to do airbnb more often.

Awesome place! Exceptionally nice and helpful hosts! The cabin was in a great location in the countryside that was an easy ride to Otavalo, Cotacachi & Ibarra. Excellent place if you do not want to stay in the city. They have a small farm with several kinds of animals including a baby llama! Katty & Lio were so great and helped us get around to the different cities. Spectacular people and views! I want to live here forever! The cabin itself was very cute and clean as well.

If I could give a 6-star rating I would. In addition to a lovely home that was even more charming in person, with those huge picture windows with magnificent views, plus a 3-day old baby llama finding his legs - Lionel and Katty are two of the most delightful people I've ever met. They took me in, treating me like an old friend. They went above and beyond to help out during a travel-related challenge and I'm ever grateful. A few highlights: cooking up fresh-from-the-farm chicken and quail eggs, then enjoying my breakfast and strong Ecuadorian coffee on the front porch overlooking the valley. Watching the baby llama learn to run, and making friends with curious and gentle papa llama. Spanish lesson with Katty over a delightful 3-course lunch in Cotacachi. Sitting in front of the warm fire wrapped in wool blankets listening to the wind in the darkness. Highly recommend.

Realmente las fotos no logran describir lo maravilloso que es este lugar, un lugar único y maravilloso donde tienes bastante contacto con la naturaleza y una paz y armonía única Sin duda alguna lo recomiendo a mis amigos y lectores --- Una familia súper cálida Katty y Lionel están con los brazos abiertos ante toda petición Volveré pronto. Ne cherchez plus le paradis sur terre, il est ici 🙂 Douceur de vivre, paysage majestueux, accueil comme en famille, tranquillité, découverte, petite maison au charme typique... Vraiment on est bien chez Katty et Lionel qui savent tout mettre en œuvre pour le bien-être de leur hôte. Fruits, beurre maison, œufs frais, eau en bouteille, pain... m'attendaient pour mon arrivée ! Le matin vous vous réveillez entouré des volcans de la cordillère des Andes. Le petit village fermier s'anime, les animaux crapahutent sur les sentiers. Otavalo, Cotacachi, Fuya Fuya sont quelques-unes des excursions mémorables à faire sur place, facilement grâce à l'aide de Katty et Lionel. Venez simplement passer du bon temps ici, vous imprégnier d'une culture plusieurs fois millénaire, vivre au rythme de la nature entouré par les montagnes. J'étais bien triste de quitter ce petit havre de paix, mais riche d'une belle découverte de ce pays fabuleux qu'est l'Équateur.

All I can say was wow! Place was majestic and the views are breath taking. Not to mention it was nice having Sammie the llamas and Rocky their German Shepard dog around. They were both so friendly. Communication were great and everything from kitchen stuff, bathroom and bedrooms were set. Leo picked us up from Quito airport, brought us to the eucalyptus forest where the waterfalls is. Took us to the grocery store to buy things to cook cause we feel like cooking. Seriously my 3 companions kept saying they can leave Ecuador happy and satisfied just by staying here. Mind you we still have Amazon jungle and the Galapagos to go to. That's saying we were very happy with our stay at Leo's and Katty's place. Amazing! I even met a tourist in Amazon and recommended to him and his family to visit Otavalo and to stay at this place. If you go to Otavalo and would like to be surrounded by beauty this is the place. Beautiful mountain/volcano views. Definitely will stay here when I visit Otavalo again. Thank you Katty and Leo! My 3 companions were so happy and kept raving about your place. Can't wait to stay here again!

Le top du top!!! depuis six mois que l'on voyage de loin la meilleure location!!! Cathy et Lionel sont adorables et très disponibles, la maison parfaite pour un séjour à la campagne!! Sami le lama et Rocky le berger allemand sont de parfaits compagnons de séjours!! très soigneusement aménagée et décorée avec tout ce dont on a besoin!!! On a juste plus envie de partir une fois qu'on y est, la région est magnifique!! rien à dire... Merci encore.

This is a great place to stay if you are searching for peace and tranquility outside of a small village. Katty and Lionel are wonderful hosts, and go out of their way to assist you with any questions you may have, and can also help you organize day trips for sightseeing, or hiking. The views from the casita are breathtaking! You can't go wrong if you're looking for a quiet place to stay in the country, but has easy access to Otavalo and Cotacachi.

Als ich voellig erschoepft und ausgehungert (Iberia servierte waehrend des 11 stuendigen Flugs nur eine einzige Mahlzeit!) in Quito mit fast zweistuendiger Verspaetung um 2 Uhr nachts ankam und mich Lionel sehr freundlich und herzlich empfing, verbesserte sich gleich meine schlechte Laune. Nach 2 Stunden Fahrt endlich im Haeuschen angekommen, fuehlte ich mich wie zu Hause - urgemuetlich. Aber was in diesem Moment am Wichtigsten war, ich konnte endlich meinen Hunger stillen. Katty hatte wieder einmal an das leibliche Wohl ihrer Gaeste gedacht: Frisches Obst , Joghurt, Muesli etc. Am ersten Morgen, als ich vor das Haus trat, staunte ich schon sehr ueber die ueberwaeltigende Aussicht. Auf den Fotos war dieser spektakulaere Panoramablick nicht dargestellt (ist wohl nur mit spezieller Kamera moeglich) . Aber ich entdeckte auch viele interessante Details des Hauses, die traditionelle Bauweise, das schoene typische Kunsthandwerk, das die Raeume dekoriert, die vielen Blumen, die ums Haus wachsen, die beiden Lamas, die vor dem Haus grasen etc. - Ich hatte einen Ort zum Wohlfuehlen gefunden. Und Katty und Lionel, die diesen schoenen Platz so liebevoll pflegen und erhalten, sind ideale Gastgeber - einfuehlsam, sehr aufmerksam und besonders hilfsbereit.
